    Hello Alex,

I am a beginner bass player. I have only been playing for about 5 months. I started with with Stand-up bass, and have added playing the same boring chords on the guitar bass too (help) I do play a little with a bluegrass stage band, but am in a rut of using the same chords, and patterns ….BORING…. I hope watching your next couple of videos, you’ll be able to SPICE-UP my playing. I have experience in theroy, sight reading, and formal piano lessons. I hope this experience will be helpful as I progress with your teaching method.

    Thanks Earl

Hey yeah I really like the teaching style that you use in order to make playing bass pretty instinctive. I’m a complete beginner but it still really helped me get a grasp of how the fingering and lines work on a bass guitar.

Man…look!!!! Anytime you tell a bass player who loves Maxwell to PRACTICE one of the iconic Maxwell songs you’re gonna get a positive response. lol. I’m good so far even though I have no idea why your email response said that I didn’t have to practice today. I’m definately going to get some of those riffs under my belt. Thanks for the “hurry up” on viewing the video too. It’s a nice nudge in the right direction.

Good intro. I don’t know if I can get my fingers to stretch that far. I have trouble even with my standard guitars. I normally work out a simple rhythm pattern for the bass. I will give it another try. I am told that the stretch gets easier with practice.

Yes it does Gerald. It’s like learning to walk… The muscle develop the flexibility that’s needed of them.
